linr Back to the board

FOR DEVELOPERS

linr from the command line.

Most listeners never need this page. getlinr.com, the browser extension and Sign in with Plex do everything, and they update themselves. These lines are for people who prefer a terminal. Everything they install updates itself afterwards, so you only paste a line once.

MAC

linr for Mac

The helper that reads what any app plays on the Mac (Spotify, Apple Music, Plexamp, TIDAL, Roon, browsers), plus the menu bar line. Paste in Terminal:

mkdir -p ~/linr-setup && cd ~/linr-setup && curl -fsSLO https://getlinr.com/download/install-linr.sh && bash install-linr.sh

It asks once for the email and password of your linr account. The helper then checks for a new version every six hours and puts it in place by itself. The menu bar app says Update in its panel when a new one is ready.

WINDOWS

linr for Windows

The helper and the app for Windows 10 and 11. Paste in PowerShell:

powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "irm https://getlinr.com/download/install-windows.ps1 | iex"

The same as the Windows download on the board. It updates itself afterwards.

LINUX

linr for Linux

The helper that reads MPRIS media controls through playerctl, and the top bar line. In a terminal:

curl -fsSL https://getlinr.com/download/install-linux.sh | bash

It updates itself afterwards.

MAC · ALARM

The Plexamp alarm

Plexamp starts on the Mac at the time you set on the Alarm page, and the music rises slowly. In Terminal:

curl -fsSL https://getlinr.com/download/install-alarm.sh | bash

It asks once for the email and password of your linr account. A minute later the Alarm page shows your Mac.

Wake the Mac a minute before (optional). Open the Alarm page and choose “Let the Mac wake itself”: it brings you here with the line for your time and days.

The wake line asks for the Mac’s own password. Paste it again whenever you change the time or the days. To remove the wake schedule: sudo pmset repeat cancel

BROWSER · UNPACKED

The extension, unpacked

Only for testing the newest extension before the Chrome Web Store has it. Everyone else: add linr from the Chrome Web Store, which updates it by itself.

curl -fsSL https://getlinr.com/download/install-extension.sh | bash

Then in chrome://extensions switch on Developer mode, press Load unpacked and choose the folder it copied.
