The story
Amalgama was one of the pioneering heavy metal bands in Costa Rica in the mid 1980's, along with Acero (2) and Drama (76). The band had a very short lifespan, roughly from 1987 to 1991. They officially recorded only one 7-inch single. The band reunited in 2010.
The band consisted of Jorge "Koko" Araya on guitar and songwriting, Koldo Isusi on drums and songwriting, Ronald Diaz on bass, José Luis Sánchez on keyboards, and Marta Fonseca (later a member of Suite Doble) on vocals and songwriting.
