The story

Prog Jazz Rock band from London 1971-1974.

The 1st line-up of the band is dated 1971 (mark I) with Sammy Rimington on sax/flute, Terry Schindler (ex ) on lead vocals (later replaced by Elmer Gantry), Gregory "Kirby" Graham on guitar, Rik Kenton on bass and an drummer called Nick. The following year the line-up (mark II) changed almost completely, with Rimington the sole survivor, settling with : Sammy Rimington on sax/flute/guitar, Geoff Skates on lead guitar, Terry Cooke on vocals/flute, first Colin Ellar then Brian Stanley on bass and Alan Wickett on drums. The music of the quintet is progressive jazz rock influenced by King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Colosseum and Frank Zappa. The band did numerous college gigs and support slots with groups such as Wishbone Ash and Rare Bird, in search of a label deal. In 1973 their manager Troy Dante signed them to Mam Records, a mainstream label, for which they recorded reluctantly two singles but not under the name of - (1973) and (1974). At this point Rimington, frustrated from a truly unsatisfactory situation, financed sessions at RG Jones studios in Wimbledon and took those to the likes of Chrysalis, Island and Polydor. Unfortunately the long-awaited deal never came and in the end in 1974 the decision was made to dissolve the group. In 2011 it was issued the CD , including the RG Jones sessions + a 1973's live track.
