The story
British string ensemble formed late 1990s by Gini Ball and producer Mike Hedges, along with Anne Stephenson and Sally Herbert, to work on projects with The Manic Street Preachers and Bernard Butler. Comprised classically trained professional musicians — string players, arrangers and composers — who have worked in music, film and theatre. Members have worked with Madonna, The Manic Street Preachers, Marc Almond, Zero 7 and Deep Purple.
An offshoot, the Brilliant Strings Quartet, also performed at Bartoks in London, with Anne Stephenson, Gini Ball, Claire Orsler and Dinah Beamish.
