The story

New York City band founded in 1979 by Alan Milman and Doug Khazzam who wrote most of the songs between 1979 and 1983. Initially consisting of Doug Khazzam (guitar and vocals), Joey Kelly (lead vocal) on their initial 1980 release called Sheila b/w Party Girl.

After Joey’s departure in late 1980, Doug took over lead vocals and became the persona “Buddy Love”. Alan and Doug wrote the 1982 debut album “Buddy Love” (sometimes called the Yellow Album with new members Brett Rizzo on bass and Robbie Wise on drums. This album received rave reviews in power pop circle however sales did not match. Brett and Robbie left and drummer Rich Starr (founding 1980 member who played on the 1980 single) and new member Hugh Carroll (bass and vocals) joined Doug and Rich to make 1983’s “More! Buddy Love”.

In 1984 they started preproduction for another album that unfortunately was never completed.
