German Jazz saxophonist and violinist from Nurnberg, Germany. Died February 22, 2026 aged 89.
He is classically trained and was teached by . In 1964, he and met in Nürnberg and founded together the "Contemporary Trio", a Jazz formation.
They went to Munich and in 1969, him and Burchard founded together . He played with the band until 1972, when they went on a tour through Portugal and Northern Africa. After that tour, Hofmann left the band.
