Koan is a band from Moscow. Formed in 1993. 84 albums and EPs, from Talking Stones (2005) to Nine Worlds (2025). Listeners file the music under downtempo, ambient and deep house.
What MusicBrainz knows so far. No one has written their story yet.
Beyond the records: books, other lives and interviews, from the band and its members.
Tap the heart on the board while a song plays and it lands here. Listeners who keep their listening private are counted, never named.

Never Ever (Alternative Mix)1 Dec 2004 · SingleVinylRecords from MusicBrainz, completed with the release lists of Deezer and Apple. Sleeves from the Cover Art Archive and the same lists.
Is a record missing?
Members past and present, each with their own page. From MusicBrainz and Discogs.
Records by other artists with Koan in the credits, from the song and record credits of MusicBrainz and Discogs. Their own bands are above.
Playlists with Koan in them: Sonic Architects selections and Pause & Record tapes from linr listeners, Deezer’s editors and curators, radio shows on Mixcloud and ListenBrainz playlists. Every tile opens on linr first, with the original one link away.
Where the listeners of ListenBrainz, Last.fm and Deezer agree, with the circle of Koan’s own bands. A source that names other people with the same name is left out.
When Koan plays on your computer, linr shows the story of the song as it plays, on any screen: the record and its date, who plays on it, related artists, concerts ahead. Spotify, Apple Music, Plexamp, YouTube, any player. Free, no ads.
