The story
Rio was born to Toshiki Nagata and Sachi Hayasaka in Tokyo on May 24, 1993. He started playing saxophone in the first year of middle school when he joined the school orchestra. He studied Spanish in Patagonia, Argentina for a year when he was a sophomore in high school. While he was there, Rio performed at a local museum and a radio broadcasting studio. He made his debut in Tokyo when he was 17 years old as a baritone saxophone player and joined Sachi Hayasaka’s Minga and performed at various concerts in Japan. In 2012, he took part in TReS’s concert tour in Argentina. He performed in Patagonia and appeared on TV and radio shows, quickly becoming a sensation in the city.
