The terms, in plain words

What linr is, and is not

linr shows the song you are already playing, in any player, with the story around it: the record, the people on it, related artists, concerts, weather and time. It is a companion, not a music service.

• linr does not host, stream, record or sell music or video. Your music stays in your own player and your own accounts.
• Almost everything shown is gathered automatically from public sources (listed in Notice and credits on the board) and combined by software without human review. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Weather is indicative only.
• linr is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any player, streaming service, artist, label or rights holder. Their names and artwork appear only to identify what is playing.

Your account

• You need to be at least 16 to make an account.
• Keep your password to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility, so tell us at support@getlinr.com if you think someone else used it.
• The helper apps are free to install on your own computers for your own use. Please do not resell them or present them as your own.
• You can stop using linr at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the privacy page).

Keeping the line

The chat, the forum and the guest book are small rooms for people who love music. In them, and anywhere on linr, please do not:

• harass, threaten or insult anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content;
• post someone else's private information, or anything that is not yours to share;
• advertise, spam, or use linr to promote something nobody asked about;
• try to break, overload, scrape or get around the site's protections, or reach other listeners' data;
• use linr against the law.

We may remove anything that breaks these rules and, if needed, close an account. Where we can, we tell you why.

What you add stays yours

Nicknames, avatars, logos, messages, votes, playlists and notes remain yours. You give linr permission to store them and show them where you put them, for as long as they are on linr; that permission ends when you delete them. When you upload a logo or an image, you confirm that you own it or may use it. Do not post work that belongs to someone else.

If you believe something on linr infringes your rights, write to copyright@getlinr.com with what it is, where you saw it and who you are. We review every notice promptly and remove what is not allowed.

The name linr, the orange line, the design and the code of the site belong to linr. Please do not copy them to make something that could be confused with it.

Links, shops and tickets

linr links to other sites: record shops, bookshops, ticket sellers, artists' own pages. When you buy something there, you buy it from that seller, under their terms and prices, and they are responsible for it. linr sells nothing itself and is not a party to your purchase.

Some of those links may be partner links. If you buy through one, linr may earn a small commission from the seller, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what linr shows you or in what order. Pages with such links say so.

Donations

"Put a coin in the jukebox" is a voluntary gift that keeps linr running. It does not buy a product, a service level or any right over linr, and it is not refundable except where the law says so or we made a mistake. A gift is handled by the payment service you choose, under its own terms.

Limits

linr is offered as it is, for free, by a very small team. We do our best to keep it running and correct, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, complete or free of errors, and we may change or stop a feature.

As far as the law allows, linr is not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you take based on information shown on linr. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria, without taking away the protection the law of your own country gives you as a consumer. If we disagree, please write to us first at hello@getlinr.com; most things are solved by a letter.

We may update these terms as linr grows. The date below changes with every update, and if a change matters to you we will say so on the board or by email before it applies.

linr is run from Sofia, Bulgaria, by Niko Koukidis. Write to hello@getlinr.com.
