The Savoy Orpheans

The story

British dance band of the 1920s resident at the Savoy Hotel, London, between 1923 and 1927. After contract with the Savoy Hotel ended in 1927, the status of the band was uncertain. A small number of bands under The Savoy Orpheans name performed and recorded from 1928-1930. In 1931, a new band was formed with a similar name under the direct control of the hotel itself.
